Hometown Harvest Ride

Come one come all to the first ever Hometown Harvest Ride, a bicycle tour through the Town. Get to know your neighbors or just enjoy a day in the outdoors.

Saturday, November 3, 2007
Registration: 9 a.m.
Southland Mall parking closest to Caribbean Blvd.

The bicycle tour will start at 9:30 a.m. The ride is approximately 10.6 miles long. But don’t worry, there will be two rest stations to catch your breath and enjoy refreshments and snacks.

This event is for the whole family to enjoy. During registration, the Cutler Bay Policing unit will conduct a safety workshop.

Safety comes first in the Town of Cutler Bay. All riders are required to wear a helmet. Child-size helmets are available, but quantities are limited so please arrive early. Unaccompanied children will NOT be
allowed to ride.

Tips for a safe and fun ride:

  • Helmet

  • Proper, working equipment

  • Water

  • Sunscreen

We also recommend wearing a white T-shirt to help motorists recognize riders.

For more information please check out the Town’s web site, www.cutlerbay-fl.gov. Should you have any questions about the bicycle ride, please call Town Hall at (305) 234-4262.

Palmetto Bay Village Center

The PBVC will be the location of the August luncheon. We hope that you will bring as many visitors as you can for our Speed-Networking activity. Mayor Paul Vrooman is scheduled to address the group. See you there!

The July 4th Holiday at Whispering Pines Park was a success

Thanks to all those who attended the Independence Day celebration. Everyone had a wonderful time and it showed great community spirit. We are looking forward to next year being even better!

Meeting #2: Cutler Ridge Park Community Room

The membership broke into small groups called "spheres of influence" to determine how we can work together to pass referrals to one another. It also gave the sphere members an opportunity to see what businesses aren't represented in the association. Everyone was asked to find someone who will fill those vacancies during the next 30 days.

Thank You, Anacapri To Go

The Italian Cuisine provided by Anacapri To Go could not have been better.  It was reported to the owner, Giuseppe 'Joe' Zuozo, how much everyone enjoyed the food, and his only concern was whether we had enough. We encourage our members to spread the word about how delicious the food is at this fine establishment. We had plenty and thanks again, Joe.

Auditorium Dedication: May 2

The Cutler Ridge Middle School is naming their auditorium in honor of John Cosgrove. Everyone is invited to attend. Click here for details.

Membership: Nearing 100 Member Mark

We are pleased to announce that our membership continues to grow. Since our March luncheon, we have added seven new members. There are now 95 business owners who have joined the CBBA association. The excitement is building every month. Let's keep up the good work!

First Meeting at New Location: Cutler Ridge Park Community Center

Our first meeting at the Cutler Ridge Park Community Center was well attended with over 75 members and visitors. The delicious meal was catered by Honey Baked Ham of Cutler Bay.

The group enjoyed the fast pace of the networking program, which was called Speed Networking. Members were encouraged to share with each other what they do for business and who their best referral would be.

Many commented on how well the meeting went and how they look forward to our next meeting in April. See pictures of the event by clicking here.

Exciting Start: Members Challenged to Help Other Members

The room was buzzing after our first monthly CBBA luncheon. Leadership announced that our goal for the new year is to help grow each other's business through networking with our 88+ member association. The theme for the year is "Taking Your Business to the Next Level: Using Networking."

Every member is being challenged to conduct Member-to-Member meetings before the February luncheon. This will encourage the passing of qualified referrals to each member. The more we know about each other's preferred business prospects the better we are able to help find them.

CBBA Membership Continues to Grow

Please join in welcoming the following new members to our association:

  • William Glaske, Attny., Golden & Cowan

  • Sharon L. Azoulay, Attny., Martin & Azoulay

  • Dr. Aixa Goodrich, Chiropractor, South Florida Rehab. & Wellness Center, Inc.

Guest Speaker: Gary Castellano, Speaker & Instructor

We want to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Castellano, of Freedom Speakers & Trainers, for his presentation at the January luncheon entitled, "Benefits of a Powerful Memory." He impressed on us just how powerful remembering our client/customer names can be to our "bottom-line." He encouraged everyone to spend time developing our memory power. We look forward to having him return to discuss other important topics.

Business Card Vending Machine

During the November luncheon at R.J. Gators, the CBBA Business Card Vending Machine was unveiled. The vending machine allows advertisers to store up to 200 business cards giving restaurant patrons the opportunity of taking one of them. This is an excellent way to get your business some great exposure. The spaces are limited and are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. The cost is only $60.00 for a six-month period. Contact Darryl Boyette or Cindy Ingersoll for availability.

Cargo Trailer To Be Donated To Boy & Girl Scouts

The Cutler Bay Business Association has purchased a cargo trailer from Southwest Trailer, Inc. to be donated to the local Boy & Girl Scout troupes. Southwest Trailer, Inc. was gracious to sell the trailer at cost to the association. Signage for the trailer is being provided by Oceano Graphics. It was presented to them at our December luncheon in memory of former mayor of Cutler Bay, John Cosgrove. Please be sure to attend and bring your cameras. (Actual trailer pictured below)

In Memory of
Mayor John Cosgrove

The Town of Cutler Bay greatly mourns the passing of its beloved Mayor John F. Cosgrove. Mayor Cosgrove passed away on April 19, 2006 while traveling in Zimbabwe. We continue to ask for your prayers for his family and friends.
